SUBJECT: Dominican Republic Response to CITES COP-15 Demarche

EconOff delivered the CITES COP-15 demarche (Reftel) points to
Eleuterio Martinez, Vice Minister for the Environment, on 24
February 2010. Martinez, who will lead the Dominican delegation to
CITES COP-15, said the Government of the Dominican Republic (GoDR)
will support the U.S. proposals for sharks, corals, and bobcat.
Martinez added that the countries of Central and South America will
meet in Doha before the CITES conference to discuss the proposals
and "hopefully speak with one voice."
