(SBU) Singapore will abstain from voting on the four UN Third
Committee country-specific human rights resolutions on Iran,
Belarus, Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and Burma in
the UNGA Plenary, MFA International Organizations Directorate
Deputy Director Jophie Tang advised us on December 10. She
told us that regarding possible no action resolutions,
Singapore would follow its actions in Third Committee. This
suggests Singapore would vote in favor of no action on Iran
and Belarus, and abstain from voting on Burma.
