1. (SBU) DCM delivered reftel CV and points on October 24 to
Florence Chong, Assistant Director for International
Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Chong
replied that the GoB would prefer for the WEOG to come to a
consensus on a single candidate to avoid a contested
election. However, she welcomed the information on David
Walker's qualifications and suggested that we keep Brunei's
mission in New York informed about the status of our
candidate.
