In response to reftel, Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Department of Internal Market and Related Policies Specialist
Jan Nemec said the GOCR is not directly subsidizing any of
the development costs of Galileo. Nemec explained that
Galileo development costs are directly funded from the
budgets of the EU and European Space Agency. The Czech
Republic is among a handful of EU Member States competing to
host the Galileo Supervisory Agency and the GOCR has offered
at no-cost a government administrative building to house the
new agency. The GOCR ratified the U.S.-EU GPS Galileo
Agreement on August 23, 2005.
