1. (U) Poloff delivered reftel points June 13 to Alexandros
Rallis of the Greek MFA's Directorate for International
Organizations (D1), which passed them to Greece's Ambassador
in Geneva and former D1 head, Frangisko Verros. Greece will
be represented in Geneva by Professor Kalliope Koufa.
Consulate Thessaloniki passed reftel points June 16 to
Professor Koufa, who was supportive of our position.
Biography of Koufa follows:
BIOGRAPHY
Professor Dr. Kalliopi Koufa is a Professor of Law and the
Director of the Institute of International Public Law and
International Relations at the University of Thessaloniki,
Greece. She also serves as a Member of the United Nations
Subcommission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights
and its Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Terrorism.
Prof. Koufa teaches the newly-added course on Human Rights
and Terrorism in the academic year 2002-2003.
