(SBU) Embassy delivered reftel demarche on June 10 and
repeated it June 15 to the MFA division of UN/OAS and
international conference affairs. On June 22, deputy
director Rhadys Abreu de Polanco informed us that the
Dominican Republic will support the Swiss proposal for a
diplomatic conference to adopt a third additional protocol to
open the door for full membership for Magen David Adom (MDA)
in the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement. The
Dominican Republic will reply accordingly to the Swiss
circular note that made the proposal.
