New Sightseeing Experience at Cardrona for Winter 2017

Published: Mon 19 Jun 2017 12:05 PM
With the new McDougall’s Chondola this winter, we’re very excited to launch a new Sightseeing product at Cardrona for the 2017 season & beyond. We’re delighted that this product has already been hugely successful in its first week of operations, & can’t wait to meet more non-skiing guests as the season progresses.
The Chondola means that sightseeing guests will be able to ride up to the top of the mountain in a gondola cabin, staying warm & dry the whole way up. At the top of the mountain (1860m) they can visit the new Vista Bar & have a glass of Mumm champagne, a craft beer or a barista-made coffee. The top of the lift overlooks the Wakatipu Basin & has spectacular views of the Southern Alps towards Mt Cook – the perfect spot for a great Instagram photo!
A Sightseeing Chondola ride is $35 for adults & $25 for kids. Snow boots are available to hire in Rentals for $15, & waterproof outerwear as an added extra. We also offer a shuttle service from the bottom of the Cardrona access road for $15 return, or buses from Queenstown or Wanaka daily.
We are adding more on-mountain experiences for non-skiing guests as the winter progresses, including tubing & stargazing. Tubing will be in place at the top of the Chondola, opening (weather dependent) in time for the July school holidays.
