Canterbury Support Strong for Holder
Fresh off the back of success at the NZ Elite Motorsport Academy, Mt Maunganui rally driver David Holder is set for another strong performance in his Stella Pumps & Stadium Finance backed Fiesta at this weekend’s Rally of Canterbury, also doubling as the fourth round of the New Zealand Rally Championship.
As the team heads south to the mainland, support is one thing they aren’t lacking. With their major sponsors Stella Pumps, Stadium Finance, and Magnum Compliance, all based in Christchurch they can rest assured there will be plenty of cheers for Holder Brothers Racing.
“In our eyes it’s an important rally for the team, the support we receive from our Christchurch sponsors is really humbling so naturally we’re keen to put in a top performance on their home turf” says Holder.
“We are really proud to be associated with Stella Pumps, Stadium Finance and Magnum Compliance, three influential businesses within the area, all making a difference in the rebuild of the quake zone.” comments Holder.
The South Island event is one that has some familiarity for Holder, having competed here once before, there are high hopes for a strong performance.
“Canterbury was actually my very first
rally back in 2010. It’s safe to say the nerves were high
back then sitting on the start line, and to be fair that
hasn’t changed a lot. But after a bit of experience over
the years, going off the odd bank and through a couple of
farmer’s fences, you learn that you quite literally
don’t know what’s around the corner. Last time I had
half the car off the road in amongst some gorse for a few
anxious moments. So as always I will be out there just
giving it my best” states Holder.
Rally Canterbury
begins on Sunday 11th of August. Keep up to date throughout
