Evoking the spirit of New Zealand aviation and saluting famous Kiwi pioneers such as Jean Batten and Richard Pearce, the Silver Fern Air Race is an extraordinary race set to depart from Hong Kong, visit Bali Indonesia and Melbourne Australia before landing in Christchurch amongst the majestic beauty of New Zealand’s South Island.

Just as Jean or Richard would not have climbed into their cockpits without an aviator jacket, entrants in the Silver Fern Air Race need to be similarly properly equipped. As soon as your entry is received, we’ll ask your measurements so Knight of New Zealand – producers of exclusive New Zealand fine leather clothing - can begin work on your Knight of New Zealand designed bespoke jackets. Embossed with the Silver Fern Air Race logo and made to measure from incredibly light and warm lambskin the ‘Jean’ and ‘Batten’ jackets for women and the ‘Aviator’ for men are valued at NZD$2500 each. Each race entrant will receive two jackets in either the ‘Jean’, ‘Batten’ or ‘Aviator’ style.

The Silver Fern Air Race is open for entry and has already attracted international business people, passionate pilots and airlines that ‘just have to be part of an extraordinary event’. This event is about the prestige and spirit of travelling in true style and conducting business with likeminded people along the way.

Touchdown in New Zealand is timed to coordinate with the biennial air extravaganza, Warbirds over Wanaka to be staged over Easter 2012 - a ‘bucket list’ event for aviators all over the world.

Organised by a group of New Zealand aviators in partnership with Christchurch International Airport, the Silver Fern Air Race is not just an air race, it’s a business trip designed to boost business opportunities, connections and travel between Southern China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. It’s a must do for aviators, but also a wonderful opportunity to extend export, tourism or aviation interests throughout the region.

Corporate jets, Airliners, Military aircraft, high-performance turboprops and piston engine aircraft will race – with appropriate handicaps – from Hong Kong to Christchurch. This unique event is open to aircraft of all nationalities and is designed to accommodate all classes.
