Three teams to hold public training

Three teams to hold public training

Dunedin (Tuesday, 23 August): Three of the six teams playing Rugby World Cup 2011 matches in Dunedin will hold training sessions which will be open to the public.

England will hold its only public training session in Dunedin, to acknowledge the support of locals who are hosting them for three weeks. It is expected to take place at Carisbrook on 20 September at a time to be confirmed once the team arrives in Dunedin.

Romania will be holding four public training sessions in advance of its game against England on 24 September - at the University Oval daily from 19 September to 22 September, from 10am to noon.

Italy will also hold an open training session between 3pm and 5pm at the University Oval on 29 September.

However, the training sessions are not the only times fans can see the teams.

Argentina is being given a welcome at Dunedin Airport on 1 September, at 8.05pm.

Both England and Argentina are being hosted at formal civic welcome ceremonies as Dunedin is their first stop in the Tournament. They are being held in the Dunedin Town Hall: Argentina, 4 September, 12.00pm; and England, 6 September, 5.30pm. The public is welcome to attend.

There may be other opportunities for the public to see and interact with the teams, which will be announced after they arrive.
