Will the Roosters Leave the Vodafone Warriors Crowing?

Auckland, New Zealand, April 24, 2001 – The Vodafone Warriors are set to come out fighting when they take on the much-fancied Sydney Roosters this Sunday. After a disappointing loss to the Sharks, the Vodafone Warriors are determined to eliminate the errors that cost them dearly.

The Vodafone Warriors will be without co-captain and defence stalwart Kevin Campion who is out with an injured eye socket. Roosters star Brad Fitler will also be absent from the game as he sits out his two week suspension. But Vodafone Warriors Coach Daniel Anderson knows a Roosters team without Fittler will still be competitive.

“We’ll be working hard this week to address the errors in our game against the Sharks. Playing to full potential as a team is essential if we are going to make the Roosters work on Sunday.”

“We made mistakes last Saturday, no one is more aware of that than us. It is inevitable we’ll have our off days, and we won’t win every game, but that is small consolation to a team so focussed on success,” Anderson says.

“Travelling continues to be a problem for us in terms of our consistency. It’s a given and we just have to get on with the task if we are going to be competitive and win away. The season hasn’t even reached the half way point yet so we have to make sure these are issues we can overcome.”

Jerry SeuSeu has entered a guilty plea on a charge of contrary conduct but under the NRL points system will not incur a suspension.
