Return of the Northerlies

This weekend is set to be the perfect chance to get some of those much-needed outdoor chores done ahead a more tempestuous coming week.
MetService are forecasting the cliché; ‘wet in the west of the South Island, fairly good elsewhere’, this weekend.
MetService meteorologist Tui McInnes says “We’ll see a gradual return of the northerlies during the weekend. Saturday stays mild, but the high that gifted us with a pleasant week moves away and allows for stronger winds and wetter weather to push in over the country.”
Despite being in the tail end of autumn, temperatures are still not cold.
Ahead of the rain, the mild weather could make for some foggy mornings across much of the country over the next three days, particularly for Waikato and Auckland.
“This current weather set up provides ideal conditions for fog to form, so it’s a good idea to stay ahead of the ball and keep up to date with the latest forecasts,” McInnes explains.
