The Tuataras Present 'Inner Space'
The Tuataras Present 'Inner Space'
‘Inner Space’ is a psychedelic musical journey from the third planet outwards to the far reaches of the galaxy - and beyond.
For two shows only the Space Place at Carter Observatory will host an immersive, audiovisual exploration of the cosmos.
Local musical collective The Tuataras
will perform a unique set composed specifically for the
show, and beamed throughout the planetarium via 8-speaker
360-degree Octophonic sound system directed by sonic artist
Bridget Johnson. Erica Sklenars will provide visual
accompaniment, combining original imagery with planetarium
footage from the Carter Observatory vaults, all projected
onto the planetarium dome.
With sound mixing from award-
winning recording engineer Lee Prebble and generous
assistance from the New Zealand School of
Music.
Synthesized atmosphere, swirling organs and sonic
guitars will carry you to the edge of a universal mystery -
THE BLACK HOLE.
Friday, 26th Feb 8pm, and Sunday 28th
