Notice of hearing for Esteem application

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) advises a hearing is scheduled for an application to import for release the fungicide Esteem, which contains the new active ingredient Polyoxin D zinc salt.

Esteem is a horticultural fungicide formulation intended to be used to control fungal disease in apples and grapes and be applied by ground-based, low-volume spray or high-volume broadcast spray. The application, from Kaken Pharmaceutical Co, was publicly notified because it contains a new active ingredient. The submission period was from 5 June 2015 to 17 July 2015.

The hearing will be held on Wednesday 9 December 2015 at Willeston Conference Centre, Level 7, 22–28 Willeston St, Wellington. It will begin at 9.30am.
