Dynamic Earth: Carter’s new Planetarium Show

Of all the wonders in the universe, it is our own blue-green planet that is the most extraordinary. Dynamic Earth, premiering Wednesday 20 November at Carter Observatory, will make audiences marvel at the planet we call home.

Dynamic Earth explores the inner workings of Earth's climate engine in a new immersive digital dome show with award-winning NASA animations. Audiences will ride along on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and gigantic whales, and fly into rolling volcanoes.

Explore the inner workings of Earth’s climate system, following a trail of energy that flows from the Sun through the biosphere to our atmosphere and oceans, shaping our climate. The intricate balance of Earth’s dynamic systems, dependent on living organisms as well as astral bodies, gives a unique and in-depth understanding of climate change.

Carter’s resident astronomer, John Field, has previewed the new film: “This visually stunning show uses live action and computer animations to explore and explain how our planet works, and the effect life has had on creating and changing our environment.”

The feature is a 24 minute long production narrated by Liam Neeson.

Public Premiere 7.30pm

Prepaid bookings are essential, normal entry price applies.

Special weekend showings on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November, then regular shows daily.
