Introducing the new Encore tablet from Toshiba –
Everything you need to survive your
day
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, October 16th 2013 – Toshiba today announced the availability of its new Encore tablet - fully optimised for Windows 8.1, with built-in features and apps for both productivity and entertainment, this ultra-portable tablet is ideal for consumers and prosumers wanting to move seamlessly between working, playing and sharing on a single device.
Easy to hold and use in one
hand
With a distinctive and ergonomic design
that was made to travel, the Encore is optimised for use in
portrait mode and is easy to handle in one hand. All
speakers, microphones and cameras have been perfectly
positioned, so users can comfortably tap the multi-touch
screen, listen to music, take photos or have a Skype call
without affecting performance. The thin, lightweight design
is ideal for users wanting to read an e-book or watch a
movie on the go.
Office essentials for
productivity on the go
With the full version of
Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 inside, users can make
the most of the applications they’re already familiar with
for a consistent experience, using the Encore as an
extension of their primary PC. Full versions of Word 2013,
Excel 2013, PowerPoint 2013 and OneNote 2013 are included to
boost productivity on the go, whether it’s reading,
editing, creating or sharing documents and presentations.
7GB of free online SkyDrive storage means files can be
stored in the cloud for fast access and synchronisation with
other Windows devices. It’s also easy to attach an
optional Bluetooth® keyboard for added convenience. Powered
by the latest Intel® Quad Core, ‘Bay Trail’
architecture, the Toshiba Encore delivers a fast, fluid
performance for enhanced productivity and creativity on the
move.
Instantly available and always
current
Right out of the box, the Toshiba Encore
is ultra-responsive and ready for anything. InstantGo
technology means the Encore wakes from standby mode so it
appears instantly available for use. Even while the tablet
is sleeping, connected standby maintains network
connectivity and syncs automatically, so all contents are
constantly refreshed and up-to-date. Using InstantGo means
there will be lower power consumption and the battery life
will be extended, making the Toshiba Encore efficient on the
move.

AutoBrite™ display, the power of Dolby® Digital
