Brain Day Auckland Venue Changes Due to Popularity of Lectures
The Neurological Foundation and Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland, the organisers of Brain Day
Auckland, have announced a change of venues due to the popular demand of tickets to the key lectures and discussion
panels. Brain Day was to be held at the University of Auckland’s newly revamped Grafton Campus and will move to last
year’s venue of The University of Auckland’s Business School for the Saturday 16 March event.
Director of the Centre for Brain Research Professor Richard Faull says the choice to move was made to ensure all those
interested in attending lectures and discussion panels could be catered to. “While we were very excited to have the
opportunity to showcase our new Grafton Campus, we simply didn’t have the capacity for the very large numbers of people
wanting to attend talks. All six key lectures were booked out soon after tickets became available. Success comes in all
sorts of packages and this just reflects what a huge success Brain Day has become.”
Event tickets already booked will remain valid at the new venue – and more tickets are now available.
The theme for Brain Day Auckland is Your creative brainYour creative brain, and in addition to the popular lectures and discussion panels, interactive art, music and neuroscience demonstrations
will be on show to entertain the whole family. Over 30 community groups will have information stands at the interactive
community expo on-site.
Brain Day Auckland 2012 was the highest-attended (globally) in the history of Brain Awareness Week.
