Sir Peter Gluckman & the Prime Minister respond to Transit of Venus Forum
On 7 and 8 June 2012, over 250 New Zealanders including leaders from government agencies, local bodies, science organisations, academia, business, iwi and NGOs, as well as successful locally and internationally based Kiwi entrepreneurs and many young people, gathered in Gisborne for a Forum to discuss how New Zealand could better use science to advance economically, environmentally and socially.
Sir Peter Gluckman has prepared a report, Science and New Zealand’s Future: Reflections from the Transit of Venus Forum, which summarises the Forum.
The report will be presented to the Prime Minister, Rt Hon John Key at a function organised by the Royal Society of New Zealand on Thursday 23 August 2012.
