EECA To Deliver Christchurch Electric Car
A Mitsubishi i-MiEV will be presented to key organisations in Christchurch on Tuesday morning as part of a year-long
project being run by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority.
The fully electric hatchback will be on loan to be shared amongst Christchurch City Council, Christchurch Earthquake
Recovery Authority, Environment Canterbury and Orion for a year, giving staff at each organisation the opportunity to
experience driving an electric vehicle and increase electric vehicle awareness
EECA Chief Executive Mike Underhill will launch the Christchurch Electric Vehicle Project by handing over the keys at a
small event at 8.30 a.m. After the keys are handed over, attendees will have the opportunity to take the i-MiEV for a
small test drive, time permitting. Further test drives can also be arranged. Media are welcome to attend.
