Greetings, Technorati Members and BC Nation...

Apple’s got a brand new iPad, oil companies have brand new profits, and Kristen Hess has a brand new bowl o’ comfort food. Dig it all at Technorati.

Hey Apple fans! We know you’re out there, despite the naysayers and the anti-Jobs factions. Not tough to believe of course, at least not when you consider some of the markets that Apple took from “meh” to “gotta be involved” status. Apple’s most recent niche-owning device was the iPad, which single-handedly started the shift from netbooks to tablets in the mobile computing space. And, as expected, they’ve announced its successor, the aptly named iPad 2. Did they deal with some of the issues in version 1 that only fanboys couldn’t overlook? Find out in David Chan’s Technology Channel article detailing the changes and improvements in Apple’s sophomore effort.

Apple isn’t the only company raking in the profits these days, by the way. This may be tough to believe, what with the price of gas only running about $3.50 a gallon at many gas stations, but the oil companies are (gasp) making crazy ducats once again. If dropping better than half a c-note to fill your tank irritates you half as much as it does us, stop by the Business Channel to read John Egan’s piece about the hows and whys of yet another hugely profitable quarter.

Finally, after working up a hearty lust for a new iPad (and dealing with the impatience of having to wait an entire week to actually get your hands on one), followed by the agitation caused by being reminded that in the not-too-distant future you may have to start selling off your children in order to fill your gas tank, let us offer a brief respite in the form of comfort food. There’s not much better than a big bowl of homemade macaroni and cheese to help your worries drift away in waves of carb overload, and Kristen Hess’ article in the Lifestyle Channel delivers just the bowl we want to belly up to. Read her story about what prompted her to make a big vat of “Artisnal Macaroni and Cheese,” then make it yourself – she’s thankfully included the recipe and instructions.
