BibLibre and Catalyst IT, two significant contributors to the Koha project, have just announced a partnership to sponsor future work on development of the popular open source library management system (http://koha-community.org/).
The new arrangement will see BibLibre sponsoring Koha's current Release Manager Chris Cormack so he can dedicate more time to the project.
“We are really happy to sign this partnership,” says Paul Poulain, BibLibre founder and CEO.
“We have been very successful in our business in France using Koha. We want to continue sharing what we do with the community.”
“We feel it's time to put in some money to sponsor the role of Release Manager for Koha. We hope other companies will follow our example, so that we can have a Release Manager who is dedicated to this task full time.”
Catalyst founder and director Don Christie said:
“Catalyst is delighted to work with BibLibre to sponsor Koha development.”
“We are eager for Chris to spend more time devoted to the Koha project and to continue his impressive contributions to the open source community.
“We are proud of his active engagement in the worldwide Koha community and his strong and effective advocacy for Koha.”
Beginning this month, Chris will spend an additional 60 hours per month dedicated solely to his duties as Release Manager.
