New Zealand Youth Delegation to Copenhagen

In December 2009 one of the most important conferences in history will take place in Copenhagen. Organised by the United
Nations and attended by delegates from every country, as well as thousands of observers, this conference will decide the
future of international action on climate change.
For years meaningful action has been stagnated by partisan politics, mistrust and apathy. Lack of action is in itself a
decision. We believe that now is the time to take responsibility and action.
Active public participation and awareness will be needed for our Government to make the commitments that are required.
The New Zealand Youth Delegation has been created to send young representatives to this conference; as well as act as an
accessible voice around New Zealand on issues of climate change in the lead up to the conference.
The delegation will connect with youth from countries around the world as we collectively encourage leaders and
negotiators to take responsibility for arguably the most significant issue facing humankind.

You could email your local MP and highlight how important this matter is. In order to create change we need to show that many people care about it.
