Major Grant will Support Drive for New Data Visualisation Technology
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – Thursday 1 November 2007 – New Zealand data visualization pioneer, iVistra Technology Limited, has won a $289,000 grant from the Foundation for Research Science and Technology to create new technology for use in a series of major off-shore projects.
“We are extremely pleased to receive this assistance from FRST,” says iVistra Chief Executive Craig Meek. “It will support our drive to develop a range of new data visualization technologies that we need to provide the cutting-edge solutions that major international businesses want.”
The grant will meet 50% of iVistra’s costs in developing new technology over the next 10 months that will significantly expand opportunities for businesses with mobile assets or key staff to use data visualization as a management tool.
The grant will be employed on the development of:
New Middleware and Systems Developers Kits to make it faster and simpler to integrate data visualization systems with existing IT architecture.
An Interactive Scheduling System to introduce scheduling and capacity optimization to vehicle tracking systems.
A new Mapping Engine that will generate 3 dimensional, animated, real-time displays of people and objects moving within buildings, and
New Mobile Device Displays that will enable a wide range of mobile phones and other hand-held devices to be used to gain interactive access to data visualization systems.
