Aotearoa Live – Climate Change Day of Action

July 7 is Aotearoa Live – a day for New Zealanders to express their concern about climate change.
On that day a series of Live Earth concerts are being held around the world, to raise awareness about global warming.
Climate change campaigners ClimAction are inviting New Zealanders to take part in local events.
“Climate change is the greatest threat facing humanity today. Around the world people will be speaking out at the Live
Earth concerts, it’s a great opportunity to goin our voices with theirs,” said ClimAction spokesperson David Colyer.
Two events have already been announced: a street parade will leave Aotea Square at 2 pm, and the concerts will be
screened at Tom Forde’s Pub on Anzac Ave, from eight.
“We invite everyone who is concerned about climate change to join in, or event come up with their own ideas to mark the
day,” Mr Colyer said.

Climate change campaigners ClimAction are encouraging New Zealanders to join in Aotearoa Live – a local response to the
Live Earth concerts, to raise awareness about climate change.
Climate change is the greatest threat facing humanity today.
We believe that this is an issue too important to leave in the hands of politicians, businessmen and other “world
leaders”.
Those working with information, media, music and other forms of communication have an important part to play in
informing and activating our communities.
We ask you to support the first Aotearoa Live Climate Change Day of Action.
* Spread the word about the Live Earth concerts (screening on C4) and local Aotearoa Live events on July 7 (see below),
through your website, blog, email lists or broadcasts.
* Play a song or two from one of the Live Earth performers (e.g. Beastie Boys, Crowded House, Snoop Dog) on you radio
show, DJ set, duke box or party – and tell people why.
* Join in or organise a Aotearoa Live event. Events so far: Auckland City Street Parade from Aotea Square at 2 pm.
Aotearoa Live Party, Tom Forde’s Pub on Anzac Ave, from 8 pm.
