WDANZ CHOOSES CONTEGRO CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
A breath of fresh air swept into the Web Developers Association of New Zealand's own website today, with a revamp using Contegro CMS, from North Shore CMS specialists Contegro Ltd.
WDANZ CEO, Dennis Smith says that the upgrade reflects the growth and higher profile of WDANZ, a year after its launch, on 4 July 2006. “Our initial brochure-style website had long since outgrown its usefulness and we required a modern portal that served increasing amounts of time-sensitive information.”
“The Contegro CMS has provided a solid enterprise level platform for over 100 pages, with plenty of capacity and flexibility for our future growth,” he says.
The need to share time sensitive information has been met with a series of RSS feeds including news, business opportunities, sales leads, and nationwide seminars and training events.
“Our member newsletters have served a purpose, but we are now providing much more time-sensitive information. Our members need information, like for example new business sales leads that must be distributed within hours rather than days. We expect to make heavy use of the RSS feeds over the coming years,” Smith says.
Integration of the Microsoft based front-end web product Contegro, into the open source in-house management system required some careful planning. Smith says that overall he’s very happy with the new website, especially they way it was completed and launched on time. “The design team at Labyrinth (a Contegro Partner) understood our requirements perfectly and were able to incorporate them all very professionally into the new website.”
Vaughan Reed, Director of Contegro Ltd, will be sharing about the newly designed WDANZ website at the Web Developers Conference in Wellington 12/13th June. He will include the process of scoping, redesigning and building a highly visible and critiqued industry website.
