Surfing this summer could save you money

Surfing this summer could save you money

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) has launched a family of new websites that provide information to help save you money by reducing energy costs in your home, your vehicle or business.

The EnergyWise website is targeted at householders and consumers and provides easy to follow tips and information on how to be more energy efficient in the home and how to save fuel when driving.

The site includes a section on energy efficient building design for people who are thinking about building their own home.

The Emprove website is aimed at businesses and provides information on how to develop energy management plans, reduce operating costs and better manage overall energy use. The Energy Intensive Businesses (EIB) website is aimed at companies that spend a high portion of their business costs on energy, and offers cash grants to help businesses adopt energy saving technologies through the EIB project. Anyone buying a new appliance should visit the ENERGY STAR® website to help them choose one that uses less energy, without sacrificing any features or performance. ENERGY STAR is the global mark of energy efficiency, awarded to the most energy efficient products. You can access these websites through the main EECA website www.eeca.govt.nz or through their domain addresses:
