Vodafone New Zealand and Research In Motion launch BlackBerry 7130v
Auckland, New Zealand and Waterloo, ON – Vodafone New Zealand and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) have
launched the BlackBerry® 7130v™ for corporate and individual users in New Zealand.
The quad-band BlackBerry 7130v supports wireless access to email, phone, organiser, Web browser and other mobile
applications. The handset also incorporates RIM's SureType™ keyboard technology, which merges a phone keypad with a
familiar QWERTY keyboard to allow for a narrower handset design and to enable quick and accurate dialling and typing.
Dion Knill, Head of Business Devices, Vodafone New Zealand says, “we believe our customers will be very excited with the
BlackBerry 7130v and its fantastic functionality. Wireless email, phone, browser, instant messaging and quad-band
support make the BlackBerry 7130v an ideal all-in-one mobile solution for all our customers, from consumers through to
large corporations.”
Norm Lo, Vice President of Asia Pacific at Research In Motion says, “we are pleased to broaden the choice of BlackBerry
handsets for Vodafone New Zealand customers. The innovative BlackBerry 7130v is an excellent choice for customers
looking to upgrade their mobile phone to a more powerful handset that integrates support for voice, email and data
applications with an exceptional user experience.”
The BlackBerry 7130v features first-rate phone capabilities within a sleek design, including dedicated phone keys, smart
dialling, conference calling, speed dial, call forwarding, speakerphone and Bluetooth® support for wireless headsets and
car kits.
In addition, the bright and high-resolution colour LCD screen on the BlackBerry 7130v features intelligent light sensing
technology that optimises screen and keyboard lighting levels automatically for indoor, outdoor and dark environments.
For corporate customers, BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ software tightly integrates with Microsoft® Exchange, IBM Lotus®
Domino® and Novell® GroupWise®, and works with existing enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based wireless access
to email and other corporate data.
For individuals and smaller businesses, BlackBerry Internet Service™ enables users to manage up to ten corporate and
personal email accounts (including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook, IBM Lotus Domino and most popular ISP email
accounts) from a single device.
