Jade Software Corporation (Jade) and listed UK health IT group, Ascribe plc (Ascribe) have entered into an agreement relating to the ownership and distribution of all JADE health software, including a multi year software application development and support contract.

Under the terms of the agreement, Jade will continue to provide research and development, and application support and systems management services to Ascribe for the Jade Health systems. Ascribe will assume ownership of the software, undertake marketing and business development and assume responsibility for the health customer relationship management.

Ascribe is a health IT group with offices in the UK, Australia and New Zealand and is focussed on the delivery of software solutions to the international healthcare market. Ascribe’s strategy is to build on its current position in the market through acquisitions of proven healthcare IT systems.

Managing Director of Jade Software, Dr. Rod Carr said; “I’m extremely excited by the opportunity the association with Ascribe offers Jade. Ascribe’s focus on the health sector’s information systems requirements, their established customer base in the UK with over 100 NHS trusts, and their access to capital to fund aggressive growth complements Jade’s proven technology for building information systems and support capabilities. Jade will continue to provide development and support services to Ascribe’s Jade customers. The Ascribe transaction will help underpin the accelerating rate of growth in Jade’s revenues.”

For Jade’s health customers, the move into a client base managed by an international health care organisation means that they will benefit from the broader base of health care knowledge and resources, while retaining their investment in their Jade health systems.

Executive Chairman and Founder of Ascribe PLC Stephen Critchlow said; ”Ascribe’s experience in the health market and Jade’s experiences as a provider of health software makes the agreement an extremely positive move by both parties. We are impressed by the benefits Jade’s customers in the health sector have derived from their use of Jade’s technology and we sought Jade out as a business partner to create further benefits for both organisations’ customers, staff and shareholders.”
