Auckland Property Knocks Playboy!

Thursday 4 August 2005

For Immediate Release

Auckland Property Knocks Playboy!

The property market in Auckland is the darling of the New Zelander’s top 20 search items according to the latest Trade Me figures.

Skyrocketing up from number 16 to number 1, Auckland property sits on a strong foundation of 55,284 searches. Playboy clothing has left the top 3 for the first time in months, clinging to the number 4 spot with 31,987 searches. It’s been a good long run for the iconic bunny, but its time in the spotlight may be over.

Automotive searches once again makes up much of the top 20 as Toyota moves up to number 2 with 36,642 searches. But boy racers aren’t the only ones looking for new rides - Utes, and Station wagons, make their debuts at 11 and 17.

The full list of the top 20 search items for July is listed below.

The latest Neilsen//NetRatings figures show Trade Me had over 2 million unique NZ visitors in July. It has over 1.1 million New Zealand members and more than 450,000 current listings.
