Cleanest burning petrol available in Hawkes Bay

23 2004 September

BP’s cleanest burning, high performance petrol now available in Hawkes Bay

BP’s cleanest burning, high performance petrol, BP Ultimate, is now available at selected sites in Hawkes Bay.

The 98 octane petrol is now available at BP Clive and Bayview.

BP Ultimate’s higher octane rating improves power and performance and a special additive reduces carbon build-up in the engine and keeps injectors, inlet valves, carburetors and other fuel system components clean.

The petrol is low in sulphur and benzene levels so that, when burnt, the level of both in vehicle emissions is reduced. Cleaner emissions are kinder to both people and the environment.

BP Managing Director Peter Griffiths said BP Ultimate was hugely popular across other North Island sites, and he was pleased that motorists in Hawkes Bay would now have the Ultimate choice.

“As BP’s cleanest burning and highest performance petrol we expect Ultimate’s introduction to selected Hawkes Bay outlets will be very well received by the region’s motorists,” he said.

“While all vehicles can run on BP Ultimate, we think it will be of special interest to owners of modern, high-performance cars, and older vehicles with high compression engines.”

Mr Griffiths said strong customer demand for BP Ultimate was driving the roll-out of the product to more and more BP sites.

“Over the next year BP is planning to bring BP Ultimate to more sites across the North Island and to introduce the fuel to the South Island.”

BP Ultimate is imported directly from BP’s refinery in Western Australia.
