New Zealand computer training company adopts Seagate training technology
US biggie Seagate Technology - dominant player in hard disc drive manufacture world-wide - is to work with Auckland-based AMES Training and Resource Centre through its Singapore branch to integrate its certified engineer programme into the AMES diploma course to further strengthen the portfolio of technical support services available in Australasia through the company.
AMES' Help Desk and IT Support Diploma, which takes in elements of Cambridge University IT course certificates and international computer standards, is now able to add the Seagate module, says its head of school George Marr: 'We selected Seagate's programme because it provides comprehensive coverage of current computer system technologies like ATA basics, UDMA, SCSI and SATA interfaces.
'Reliability and market dominance were strong factors in the decision - through extensive training in hard disc drive basics, installation, packaging and handling the course enhances our students' abilities to solve problems their customers may face.'
'The introduction of this training programme is a further endorsement of Seagate's commitment to enhance the quality of services and support infrastructure for our customers in the region' says Seagate general manager and director of sales and marketing for Australia Robert Yang.
The diploma in help desk and IT support is the certification for professionals who wish to enter the help desk and customer support industry. It provides students with the AMES certificate in computer support as well as five international certifications including Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST).
