Lexmark Releases New Line Of Colour Laser Printers

Lexmark C510 laser printer offers brilliant colour that any business can afford

High-quality, small workgroup colour laser offers a great value without compromising on performance and money-saving features

SYDNEY 25 May 2004 - Lexmark today released the Lexmark C510, a laser printer that offers brilliant colour at a price any business can afford.

Colour as an image-enhancing tool is an increasing reality and transferring that colour onto the printed page can give companies a considerable edge against the competition and with customers. The Lexmark C510 offers these benefits by providing an efficient and affordable way for businesses to transition from monochrome to colour.

While the Lexmark C510 is built for serious business, with a base RRP of NZ$1397.93 inc GST, it is an affordable solution for small workgroups in enterprises and small to medium sized businesses (SMBs). The Lexmark C510 is the latest addition to a powerful line-up of colour lasers that includes the high-speed Lexmark C752Ln, the award-winning Lexmark C752 and the wide-format Lexmark C912 - the latter two products being capable of upgrade from a standalone printer to a multifunction product (MFP).

The Lexmark C510 is a hard-working printer with impressive reliability that will deliver powerful performance, superior print quality and extensive networking capability. That means end users will spend less time clearing paper jams, changing toner cartridges, or calling the IT helpdesk for assistance.

"While the use of colour in business documents has grown steadily, really robust business printers were often priced out of the reach of small workgroups and SMBs. Now they can have access to both a high performance mono printer and a high quality colour laser printer with just the one device," said Graham Kittle, General Manager, Enterprise Corporate and Government, Lexmark Australia and New Zealand. "The Lexmark C510 family of printers opens up a whole new world of durability and functionality for our customers at a more affordable price. It really is a game-changing product that will set the standard for our business customers and our competition."

Powerful Performance and Superior Print Quality

Powered by a 500 MHz processor and 64MB of memory, the Lexmark C510 can deliver up to 30 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome and eight ppm in colour. And those pages come with 2400 Image Quality resolution for crisp and vibrant results every time.

The Lexmark C510n was found to be significantly faster than single pass colour lasers in a recent report from one of the industry's leading bench markers, QualityLogic Inc. The Lexmark C510n was 25 percent faster than the Okidata 5300n and 49 percent faster than Hewlett-Packard's recently announced Color LaserJet 3500n.

The Lexmark C510 also supports Lexmark's advanced software solutions, expandable memory and paper-handling options, and has an easy to use interface. All at a price that makes the Lexmark C510 a viable alternative to mono laser printers.

Money-Saving Features

The Lexmark C510 also comes with advanced tools to help manage colour printing costs, a significant consideration for both enterprises and SMBs. With Lexmark's Colour Care technologies, customers can monitor colour use or make colour printing available to only authorised users.

Other features of the Lexmark C510 include a 35,000-page maximum duty cycle per month, a two-year Onsite Warranty, and a 780-sheet maximum paper capacity. High-yield cartridges (6,600 pages colour, 10,000 pages mono) that increase productivity by reducing user interventions are also available.

Different Models for Different Needs

The Lexmark C510n features a memory upgrade to 128MB from 64MB and an internal Ethernet network card, while the Lexmark C510dn also adds a duplexer for two-sided printing.

Pricing and availability

The Lexmark C510 is available immediately in Australia and New Zealand. All pricing quoted is the recommended retail price and is inclusive of GST. For information on your nearest distributor, or for more product details visit www.lexmark.com.au

Lexmark's "Right Fit" philosophy ensures increased speed of business, reduced document production expenditure, improved service delivery to users and the facilitation of the electronic office.

"The infusion of colour in business documents can create a competitive edge, which is one of the reasons why there is a growing demand for colour printing in the workplace" Graham Kittle, General Manager, Enterprise, Corporate and Government, Lexmark Australia and New Zealand. "With the number of colour impressions being created in offices each year, Lexmark's focus is to give our enterprise customers easy to use laser devices that provide vivid colour printing at an affordable price."

The Lexmark C752's additional key attributes include:

High performance: The Lexmark C752 prints in colour and mono at up to 19 pages per minute.

Lexmark C752Ln for small and medium-sized businesses

The C752Ln gives users the performance and money-saving features of the C752, while the C752 line offers the extensive output options, MFP upgradability, and higher-yield supplies that larger workgroups require. All models are network-ready, making the user experience simple and hassle-free during installation.

The C752Ln is priced at NZ$3972.38 inc GST.

High performance, money-saving features

The C752 and C752Ln are both appealing offerings for CIOs and CFOs as they deliver attractive price points, high performance and money-saving colour printing features. The key elements that provide enterprises with added control over colour printing costs are:

'ColorSaver'. This mode reduces colour toner in images and graphics while preserving crisp text, delivering 'office quality' and reduced printing costs.

'Toner Darkness Settings'. Up to 50 percent savings on printing costs can be achieved via the five user-selectable levels of toner darkness on the C752. This provides customers with the ability to determine the best compromise of print quality and cost.

'Coverage Estimator'. The Lexmark Coverage Estimator provides users with an indication of the toner coverage on any printed page. This estimation of toner coverage can be used to calculate an approximate cost, allowing customers to discover for themselves that printing colour documents on colour laser printers is frequently an economical way to create these documents.

'Monochrome print lock'. Authorised IT personnel can turn the C752 into a black and white only printer for a specified period of time, specific job, or specific group of users. In this mode, all documents, no matter their origin, will print in black and white.

'Proof Then Print'. The user can print a proofing page prior to printing multiple copies to ensure the document is accurate. If OK, the user can simply press the "Go" button on the printer to print the remainder of the copies.

The Lexmark C752 and C752Ln are available immediately in Australia and New Zealand. More information about these products can be found at www.lexmark.com.au
