Local Internet Marketers Attend Las Vegas Seminar
Last week, Gisborne netpreneurs Ross Stokes and Kathy Crockett attended an internet marketing seminar in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"This was an exciting opportunity to share ideas and learnings with other people in the same business," said Ms Crockett.
During the seminar, which was hosted by well-known internet marketers Jim Edwards and Yanik Silver, Mr Stokes and Ms Crockett learned:
• How to do market research that will have customers lining up, before development of a new product even begins
• How every single visitor to a website can be compelled to sign up for future emails
• How to survey website exit traffic to make the most of future selling opportunities
"We came back from the meeting full of information we want to share with the Gisborne community. We want others to understand just how easy it is to do business at an international level yet still enjoy the fantastic lifestyle that Gisborne offers," said Mr Stokes.
As co-authors of "227 Unusual Business Ideas" the pair also searched Las Vegas for more examples of unusual businesses. They looked specifically for businesses that had:
• Taken an idea from one industry and applied it to another - in the process creating something entirely new
• Solved an 'ordinary' problem in a unique and unusual way
• Demonstrated how to revitalize an 'old' idea into a new one for the 21st Century
• Created something especially unique in Las Vegas' super-crowded marketplace
• Created free publicity for themselves out of something unusual
"Las Vegas is such a hotbed of unusual and unique business ideas, that we wanted to go there to learn all we could about the extreme ways casinos attract customers," said Mr Stokes.
"Because these ideas are in Vegas they sometimes don’t appear too unusual but put them in another town and they would be considered pretty crazy," added Ms Crockett.
