NZ students learn from Hubble graphics
President George Bush's decision to not maintain the Hubble Telescope has generated opposition as far away as Wellington New Zealand.
A spokesperson for New Zealand's National Astronomical Observatory, The Carter Observatory, says Hubble graphics are used extensively on the Distance Education Web Site that they have just built.
Carter board member Robert Shaw said "the Hubble images enthral students. Without the generous support of the Hubble and American funds we could not have produced such a compelling teaching web site."
"We applaud the Hubble's willingness to share its discoveries."
"The Hubble is a superb public relations investment for the United States" he added.
