Toshiba ISD Announces New General Manager

Auckland, 27 February 2004: Toshiba (Australia) Pty. Limited, today announced the appointment of Mark Whittard as General Manager (ANZ) of its Information Systems Division (ISD). He will replace Ralph Stadus who has resigned after three years with the company.

Currently ANZ Marketing and Retail Business Manager of Toshiba ISD, Mark will assume the new role from 1 May, 2004. He has been with Toshiba for five years and currently oversees the retail business unit and all areas of marketing including: industry, channel and product strategies and communications for Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Hidehito Murato, Managing Director Toshiba Australia, said: “Mark has worked very closely with Ralph on the strategy and direction of Toshiba ISD. He brings a wealth of experience and he will provide our customers, the channel and staff with great leadership and continuity.”

“Ralph has contributed greatly to the success of Toshiba in terms of business reengineering and strategy. We wish him well in his new endeavours and thank him for his commitment to Toshiba,” he said. Ralph will consult one week a month to Toshiba and pursue other business and personal interests.

Country Manager for Toshiba in New Zealand, Steve Ford, was very positive about Mark’s appointment. “He is well known and respected by staff, our channel partners and customers. We look forward to continuing to work closely with him and his successor.”

According to Mark Whittard: “Toshiba will continue to set the benchmark for mobile computing through engineering leadership and a significant R&D investment for the future.
