Symantec Corp – (NASDAQ: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition has completed compatibility testing with access infrastructure solutions provider Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTXS). This compatibility reinforces Symantec’s status as a global Citrix Business Alliance Premier Member, and its expertise in implementing comprehensive Internet security solutions across the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite.
“Symantec has demonstrated its expertise in supporting enterprise-class infrastructures with its Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition,” said Raju Parrab, Citrix Area VP – Australia and New Zealand, Citrix Systems. “We are confident that Symantec will continue to ensure our mutual customers globally have up-to-date enterprise-wide Internet security.”
Symantec has successfully demonstrated its capability to implement enterprise-class antivirus protection of Citrix environments through a number of customer implementations, including the Australian Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), whose Citrix-based network has been protected by Symantec for more than four years.
“Protection of our data has been a critical business concern for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and is a high priority on our IT infrastructure agenda,” said Brynten Taylor, director Desktop Services, Australia’s Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. “Symantec has worked with our IT administrators to successfully roll out and support security solutions across our Citrix environment, and continues to provide security advice and best practices.”
“With mainstream adoption of the Citrix access infrastructure model, there has been corresponding growth in demand for antivirus solutions that work seamlessly in this environment,” said Richard Batchelar, Country Manager, Symantec New Zealand. “While we have been successfully implementing Citrix-based solutions for some time, this compatibility testing assures our global customers that our leading antivirus solution is optimised for their Citrix environment.”
Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition provides multi-platform virus protection at the network server tier, including file servers running Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 and Citrix MetaFrame XP software.
