NZITO selects Gen-I software solution
NZITO selects Gen-I software solution
The New Zealand Industry Training Organisation (NZITO) has selected a software solution developed by total technology solutions company, Gen-i, to take its training offerings and administration support online.
NZITO works with some of the country's largest meat and dairy processing companies to help these industries ensure their people have the correct training and qualifications for the job.
Carl Ammon,
General Manager for NZITO, explains that Gen-i has a clear
understanding of NZITO's business needs.
"Gen-i is
renowned for being a good service provider and our previous
experiences with Gen-I have given us a lot of faith in the
company's ability to custom-develop software and solutions,"
says Ammon.
He adds that the local Waikato presence of
Gen-i also helps foster a good relationship.
The Gen-i
solution will capture information about the trainee, the
trainee's current qualifications, and results.
"Using
the web interface our major users can access this
information and update their own HR records without the need
for double-entry. This will improve our clients' HR staff
productivity and also will ensure that this information is
constantly up-to-date in their records."
Information about
the required training needed for qualifications and other
support material is also offered.
"During 2003, NZITO
plans to work with Gen-i to expand its offerings to include
online training to national and international companies."
The use of advanced information technology will improve training efficiencies and cost. This initiative compliments the strategy of the dairy and the meat industry to increase the productivity of their workforces as they seek to grow global business earnings.
Cherry Vanderbeke, Software
Solutions Manager at Gen-i, says that this solution is
written in JADE.
"Our Christchurch-based software
solutions team specialises in JADE," explains Vanderbeke.
"The object-oriented nature of JADE will provide NZITO a
lower total cost of ownership over time."
Vanderbeke adds that it also means that the solution is scalable and can more easily be adapted to meet changing business models.
