OldFriends.co.nz Reaches 60,000 Members

OldFriends.co.nz has today registered its 60,000th member, just eight months after it launched.

OldFriends is a free website that allows people to find and contact their old school friends. They can also contact friends from other organizations such as workplaces and clubs.

On average 350 new members register on the site each day, making it one of the fastest growing websites in New Zealand.

OldFriends is the 12th biggest site in New Zealand according to the recently released Red Sheriff statistics. Over 40,000 unique people visit the site each month and they view over 2.7 million pages.

OldFriends site manager Jessi Morgan says, “The growth we have seen has been phenomenal; it just got to a certain level and then started to snowball.”

“It’s a case of bigger is better for this type of website. The more people there are the more likely you are to find your friends,” states Morgan.

Kiwis from all around the world are using the site to find people that they have lost touch with. “The site has already proven extremely successful for people. We have had people who have been reunited after being separated for more than 50 years,” says Morgan.

OldFriends.co.nz is part of the Trade Me group of sites, one of the largest online publishers in New Zealand. The Trade Me group consists of the very popular online auction site TradeMe.co.nz and the dating site FindSomeone.co.nz.
