NZ Property Institute Launches New Website

The New Zealand Property Institute launched its new website today. The site www.property.org.nz combined information that was of interest to the public, as well as the Institutes 3000 members, New Zealand Property Institute CEO, Conor English, said today.

"Property is at the heart of all New Zealanders. Every one of us is affected by the property market one way or the other. It doesn't matter whether we rent or own a home, work in an office, are in hospital, or earn money off the land, we all have a connection to property. Now we want to extend that connection to www.property.org.nz

"For members of the public they can find out what the Institute is saying about this $420 billion dollar sector. For example the Institute makes comments of property confidence resulting from our Confidence Index, market conditions, specific issues and the profession.

"People wanting to professional services relating to property can find the names and contacts for the Institutes members. These members are required to adhere to a code of ethics and discipline processes. They practice as valuers, property consultants, property managers, facility managers, plant and machinery valuers, project managers, planners commercial and industrial real-estate people, and other property professionals. They can also get access to other information, which is on the site directly, or by linking to other sources.

"The second key audience of the site is the Institutes 3000 members. As well as information on Institute events, branches, special interest groups, international linkages, policies, membership, standards, and education for example, for members the site also holds information that is not available to the public. This information relates to statistical and costing information, remunerations surveys, The Property Journal etc.

"Increasingly we will be using this site for newsletters and providing information that previously used to be mailed.

"And we want it to be interactive so we are going to have the ability to conduct surveys, for visitors to provide us with feedback and to have online forum of specific issues." Mr English said some of this functionality was still being built and would come online soon.

"This site will continue to evolve in terms of its content and function. This is just a starting point. This will become a major part of our distribution network, along with our 17 branches and our Special Interest Group activities.
