Dr Rick Pridmore To Be Appointed Chief Executive Of Niwa
The NIWA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Rick Pridmore as the new Chief Executive of NIWA to succeed Paul Hargreaves following his retirement. Rick is currently Deputy Chief Executive (Strategic Development) and has played a major role in the successful development of NIWA since its establishment 10 years ago. Born and educated in the United States, Rick holds a PhD in Zoology from the University of Otago and earlier worked with NIWA’s predecessor organisations, the DSIR (Department of Industrial and Scientific Research) and the Ministry of Works and Development. He was NIWA’s Research Director from 1993 until his appointment to his present position as Deputy Chief Executive in October 1999.
Rick has brought strong scientific leadership to NIWA. Combined with an extensive knowledge of the business, its science, customers, and staff, he is well qualified to address the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
