IDG launches new IT training web site

IDG launches new IT training web site - teachme.co.nz

IDG Communications today launches TeachMe (teachme.co.nz) - an independent web site listing IT training and education courses from top IT training providers in New Zealand.

IDG's Online Business Manager Mark Evans says "TeachMe aims to grow the market for education and training services by making it easier for potential learners to find and evaluate courses".

Powerful search and categorisation lets learners find courses that interest them based on subject, keywords, qualification/certification, and provider. "Learners are attracted to the wide range of courses and providers, and the format makes it quick and simple to evaluate and narrow down their shortlist"

TeachMe's MyShortlist service delivers direct sales leads to course providers via its in-built Course Application/RFI (request-for-information) service.

TeachMe goes beyond displaying IT courses and seminars to thousands of potential buyers. It gives providers a flexible, secure way to manage this frequently changing information. Simple, web-based administration means providers can add or maintain course listings securely from any location using just a web browser and Internet connection.

TeachMe is also being offered for integration into other local web sites, says Evans. This optional ASP (Application Service Provider) service allows training providers to publish their courses on both TeachMe and within their own web site, powered by the TeachMe engine.

Evans says "Training providers will make significant cost-savings through reduced double-handling of data and web site development and maintenance charges. The features TeachMe powers are among the most complex to program and maintain".

TeachMe is part of the IDG network of web sites, publications and events that specialise in providing information to business users and technology professionals. These people are extensive consumers of business and technical information and top prospects for buying education and training services.

TeachMe will be heavily and continuously promoted throughout the IDG media network. Its integrated online/offline campaign will ensure TeachMe is top of mind when training services are needed.

The training industry has welcomed the new site says Evans "We have received very positive feedback. It seems most, if not all, of the top training providers will be involved.
