PeopleSoft Enterprise Service Automation Solution
PeopleSoft Introduces Industry-Leading Enterprise Service Automation Solution
Frost & Sullivan Honours PeopleSoft 8
ESA
With Market Engineering Leadership
Award
Auckland – November 19, 2001 – Today at
PeopleSoft Connect 2001 Asia Pacific in Sydney, PeopleSoft
(Nasdaq: PSFT) introduced its industry-leading PeopleSoft 8
Enterprise Service Automation (ESA) suite to the region.
PeopleSoft 8 ESA is the only solution for end-to-end service
automation, optimising the entire service process from
services procurement, through project and resource
management, to service delivery.
“Many companies spend
more than twice as much on services as they spend on any
other category, including raw materials and operating goods
-- yet this spending is one of the largest uncontrolled
costs in business,” said Craig Conway, PeopleSoft CEO and
president. “Controlling service spend requires a unique
combination of human capital and financial management, and
procurement expertise. PeopleSoft has leveraged our
knowledge and strong heritage as leaders in these
application areas to deliver the only end-to-end solution to
control service spend.”
The ESA market represents a
significant business opportunity for PeopleSoft. While
companies have spent billions of dollars optimising their
manufacturing supply chains, most haven’t invested in
optimising services. According to the Centre for Advanced
Purchasing Studies, 54 percent of corporate purchasing spend
goes towards buying services.
“Controlling service
spend is a business imperative for companies worldwide,”
said Andrew Barkla, Vice President PeopleSoft Asia Pacific.
“PeopleSoft 8 ESA has set the standard for solutions that
manage service costs and maximise the value of those
services. This industry-leading solution gives
organisations the ability to realise dramatic productivity
gains, greater operational efficiency and increased
profitability.”
Major new ESA business wins include Cap
Gemini Ernst & Young, Siemens Medical Systems, KPMG
Consulting Inc., Federal Express, Sybase, Wells Fargo, BEA
Systems, Dynegy, and Carreker.
PeopleSoft 8 ESA includes
the following applications: Services Procurement, Resource
Management, Contracts, Projects, Expenses, Mobile Time and
Expense – Palm, Travel, Workforce Analytics, and Financial
Analytics. All components of PeopleSoft’s integrated ESA
suite are available immediately.
