Doctor Global Licenses Software To Major US Technology Company
Auckland, 27 August 2001 - Doctor Global today
announced that it had licensed its personal health record
software to Innerlink Inc, a United States (U.S.)
educational technology company based in
Pennsylvania.
Innerlink Inc., plans to use Doctor Global’s (www.doctorglobal.com) recently launched health record software, in its teaching programmes throughout American schools. Innerlink Inc. will incorporate Doctor Global’s software into its educational tutorial that is used as part of student health projects.
Dr Robert Gillio, founder and Chairman of Innerlink Inc. says his company is delighted with Doctor Global’s software.
“Innerlink is very excited as Doctor Global’s Web-enabled personal health record met all of our expectations and gives us the flexibility and platform to build our own health programmes throughout schools and with other clients in the United States,” says Dr Gillio.
Innerlink Inc. also plans to launch its MyHealthTutor product in January 2002 which is based on, and powered by, Doctor Global’s licensed product. Doctor Global’s software will be used to develop an interactive tutorial designed to teach children and young adults about smoking, and its physiological effects on the human body.
Innerlink will also license the product and market it throughout schools in the U.S. The company is already involved with 2,000 schools throughout the U.S. and is actively involved in marketing the product through national forums such as the U.S. Principals National Meeting.
Doctor Global’s CEO Roger Gower says the level of interest in the many applications of the personal health record software is encouraging.
“We are pleased to have Innerlink Inc. on board as our first major US client. We anticipate more opportunities of this kind. Doctor Global also recently secured the chance to demonstrate the effectiveness of its personal health record to the Pennsylvania Surgeon-General as well as NASA’s Chief Medical Director,” says Gower.
The personal health records used as part of Innerlink’s teaching programmes will initially be kept on Doctor Global’s servers in New Zealand.
“In the future it is anticipated that these records will be transferred, subject to a set-up costs and agreement between the parties, to Innerlink’s servers in the United States,” says Gower.
