Maybe Baby?
Kiwi Women Can Calculate Peak Fertility
Auckland, 27 August 2001 – New Zealand women can now find out when they are most likely to fall pregnant thanks to
Doctor Global’s new online health calculator.
The health calculators are part of Doctor Global’s (www.doctorglobal.com) new licensed software, version 1.35, and have
four functions that allow all users to Doctor Global’s web site to measure their peak fertility, baby due date, body
mass index and level of nutrition. The calculators build on the obstetric and gynaecology section that allows women to
record events such as pregnancy, family planning, and menopause. The calculators enable users to control the management
of their health and, more importantly, the ability to plan for their future wellbeing.
Version 1.35 adds to existing features of the previous software such online consulting between doctors and their
patients using a Doctor Global personal health record, as well as the Health e-Monitor. The Health e-Monitor allows
personal record holders to screen themselves for health-related issues concerning asthma, cholesterol, diabetes, heart
and blood pressure, as well as breast, bowel, cervical and lung monitoring.
The earlier software also provided the means for users to record haematology, pathology, respiratory, and imaging test
results. Adding to this, version 1.35 has an improved scriptwriter function that pulls allergy information off the
Doctor Global Health record.
Doctor Global’s CEO Roger Gower believes that the key changes introduced by version 1.35 is an important step forward in
giving people the means to manage their personal health in a way never possible before.
“Doctor Global will allow anyone involved with the health system, at any point in their lives, to manage and plan their
health and wellbeing without expense or fuss. Version 1.35 introduces a quick and easy way for health professionals and
patients to interact and achieve the desired health outcome at a time when the health system is struggling to cope under
the pressure of increased demand and limited resources.”
“I am sure that Doctor Global’s online record and health care will transform the way clinicians and people manage their
long term wellbeing. What we will see is more efficient, accurate and responsive relationships between health
professionals and their patients, allowing for the consultation and use of medical information anywhere in the world.
This will empower clinicians and patients, in turn leading to more informed decisions over personal health care,” says
Gower.
The functionality of the new software was a fundamental consideration in its development. It has a rationalised login
process that allows users to quickly access personal information. Clinicians can consult and build a list of their own
patients, recording the information as a personal health record. Patients can see who has looked at their record, when
and which pages were accessed. Doctors can also verify patient information placed on health records.
Doctor Global’s new software has already been licensed to Innerlink Inc, a major educational technology company based in
the United States. Innerlink Inc. will use Doctor Global’s software to drive its teaching programmes throughout schools
in the United States.
