** Mobile-enabled Enterprise Applications: An Underserved US Market With the mobile CRM market alone expected to grow to $1.7 billion by 2005 according to Datamonitor, the mobile enterprise applications market represents a significant growth opportunity for Oracle. One of the first customers to embrace mobile information access across the enterprise is Kyocera Wireless Corp. Kyocera plans to provide employees with access to Oracle E-Business Suite applications such as CRM, Financials and Manufacturing on the Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone.
"At Kyocera Wireless Corp., we firmly believe that companies can realise significant benefits by accessing enterprise applications from devices such as the Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone," said Masahiro Inoue, president and CEO of Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading manufacturer of wireless handsets. "We plan to be one of the first companies to combine the QCP 6035 with the mobile-enabled Oracle E-Business Suite across our company to make our employees significantly more efficient and improve our business processes."
"The enterprise market for mobile business applications is an untapped growth opportunity," said Stephen Drake, research manager of IDC's Wireless and Mobile Enterprise Access service. "The winners in this market will include those suppliers who deliver comprehensive mobile solutions addressing critical technology and application needs, leverage businesses' existing technology resources and provide improved efficiency to the mobile workforce."
