INTERNET WORLD GETS DOWN TO BUSINESS WITH EXECUTIVE CONFERENCE LINE-UP
** IT, Commerce Minister to make introductory keynote
The first Internet World conference to hit New Zealand has attracted a host of famed speakers locally and internationally, and will open with a keynote presentation from the Hon Paul Swain, the Minister of Information Technology, Commerce and Communications.
Held in association with TUANZ, New Zealand's leading telecommunications and e-business association, Internet World will run from 9-11 October at Auckland's Aotea Centre.
Mr Swain will be joined by top-level international keynote speakers including:
** Danni Ashe, chief executive and founder of multi-million dollar mulitmedia company Danni's Hard Drive (adult entertainment), and the Guinness Book of Record's most downloaded woman on the Internet. Created by Ashe herself in 1995 with $8,000 worth of computer equipment, the consistent growth and profitability of her web-based business model have been the focus of numerous articles in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Industry Standard and eCompany Now.
** Ewan Sutherland, academic and Executive Director of INTUG, the International Telecommunications Users Group. Formerly a dean at the University of Wales, Sutherland's work has concentrated on the strategic and policy aspects of business use of telecommunications and information technology.
** Craig Settles, a staunch advocate of creative and outrageous marketing tactics, with more than 13 years experience in developing Internet strategies for companies such as Microsoft, AT&T WorldNet, Lotus and Symantec. Settles is the president and founder of American Internet marketing company Succesful.com, and has also authored two books on the subject.
** Stephen James, one of the world's most recognised experts in computer security and hacking. A "white hacker" by profession, James is the CEO of Australian network security company, IT Audit & Consulting. He is also a former senior consultant with Price Waterhouse, where he consulted to top 100 organisations throughout the world.
** Ross Pfeffer, Marketing Director, Asia Pacific for Southern Cross Cable Networks. Ross is instrumental in promoting the Southern Cross cable to ISPs, carriers, and large bandwidth users in the Asia-Pacific region.
TUANZ Chief Executive Ernie Newman says that the dynamic and diverse line-up of presenters will mean there will be something at Internet World for everyone.

In addition to the keynote speakers, Internet World will feature local experts from a range of industries, including e-farming, e-travel and e-government.
