Libertarianz Lambasts Looters From Loony Left

Buoyed by a tenfold increase in popular support, including a 1% showing in Auckland Central, Libertarianz have emerged from post-election celebrations to thank their supporters and to trash a recent press release from a union who say they represent unemployed and low paid workers.

Libertarianz deputy leader Richard McGrath drew attention to a Christmas wish list from a union calling themselves UNITE! "These people say they aren't greedy, yet in the next breath they demand $20 more per week of other people's money in return for decreased productivity. Helen Clark has quite sensibly consigned this proposal to oblivion."

"The proposal to place WINZ into a 'people's receivership' reeks of communism," added McGrath. "And the push for a higher minimum wage is a well-known recipe for further unemployment."

Pointing out that his party also opposes right-wing authoritarianism, McGrath assured UNITE! of Libertarianz support in their calls for abolition of both the Employment Contracts Act and the Reserve Bank, and for government leadership in economic development and job creation.

"Our leadership would, of course, be rather different to that which UNITE! are calling for," says McGrath. "We would be encouraging private enterprise by repealing all tariffs, all quotas, all minimum wage rates. We would abolish all taxation. "Even the UNITE! people would be better off - they'd probably all have a job - that is, if they really want one."
