Hey Richard; When, Where, How Much Did It Cost Us?

Hey Richard - where, when and how much did it cost us?

Richard Prebble's admission that he's finally taken up residence in Wellington poses more questions about the embattled Act leader's fixed abode.

"Richard has announced he's a Wellingtonian. This situation is puzzling. But that is nothing new as Richard has been many things to many people in many places throughout his political career," said Labour's Manurewa Electorate campaign manager, Daniel Newman.

On page 1033 of the 1999 Auckland telephone directory, Richard and Doreen Prebble are listed as resident at 58 Titirangi Road, New Lynn. This conflicts with a recent admission that Mr and Mrs Prebble have recently enrolled as Wellington residents.

"Richard is posing more questions than he's answering. The former MP for Auckland Central is listed as residing in Auckland but claims he's an elector in Wellington. When did he move? Why did he not move sooner? How much has the taxpayer forked out to subsidise the air travel between Auckland and Wellington prior to his recent residence conversion. Does Richard exist in two locations at once or does he has a clone? Heaven forbid two Ruchard's exist," said Daniel Newman.

Act is falling below the margin of error in several public opinion polls and right wing parties look set to lose badly in the greater Wellington region. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

"I don't think Wellingtonians will fall for an Aucklander posing as a home town boy. Richard once lost Auckland Central and will soon loose Wellington Central. Perhaps he'll consider running in Christchurch Central in 2002," said Daniel Newman.
