NATIONAL CONCERNED AT IMPROPER USE OF PARTY LOGO
The NZ National Party is concerned that two websites are purporting to be a National Party and Young Nationals website by using the National Party name and logo. The logo is registered under the Electoral Act to National and any use of it by any other person or organisations is a breach of that Act.
"It is appalling that the person or persons who created the fake sites spend their energy on propogating outrageous and objectionable claims." said Party President John Slater. The NZ National Party rejects totally the offensive comments contained on these websites and challenges the owner of the website to apologise for any embarrassment these comments may have caused."
"Therefore we are writing to the site owner to ask them to remove our logo and material for which we hold the copyright, and any references which could lead people into thinking the sites are officially associated with National".
