Massage Parlour Madam Paying ‘Spring Fling’ Cancer Insurance Premium?
Health spokesperson for the Christian Heritage Party, Gael Donoghue, asks if the Wanganui Cinderella massage parlour
owner who is offering clients 5% of the week’s takings to be given to the Cancer Society Daffodil Day Appeal is making a
type of insurance investment. “It is well known that promiscuous sexual activity is connected with genital cancer,” says
Mrs Donoghue, as she sees the irony of the advertisement.
“I am sorry that the Cancer Society, through their Manager as reported, is accepting of this income source.
Unfortunately as a result of this, Daffodil Day is now tainted in the eyes of Wanganui people, who are sickened by the
statements made by the Massage parlour owner, and her advertisement exhorting men to visit the parlour to ‘spring in for
a good cause etc’. The ‘good cause’ may be the cancer society donation, but the advertised pleasure may be a harbinger
of unwelcome sexually transmitted diseases and genital cancer, not to mention degrading emotional and spiritual effects
on both ‘customers’ and ‘employees’.
Mrs Donoghue says that for the Massage parlour owner to state that a lot of their clients had lost wives to breast
cancer, so employees and customers were supportive of the Society’s Appeal, is indicative of rather twisted thinking.
“Do wives who have lost husbands to prostate cancer rush off to male prostitutes? It is to be hoped that any other such
bizarre situation will be more carefully considered in future by all concerned, as it seems in the current situation the
Massage Parlour, its clients and employees and the Cancer Society are all losers in the public’s eyes,” concluded Mrs
Donoghue.
